Fianna Fáil TD Thomas Byrne has today let the cat out of the bag and said that he believes that water charges are gone for good.
Mr. Byrne said: “We’re quite satisfied we have dealt with water charges in a way that will broadly meet the approval of most people.
“I believe water charges are gone and I don’t believe they’re coming back…At the moment, there’s no majority possible in the Dáil to reintroduce water charges. That’s the political reality that we accept.”
