Fine Gael TD calls for maker of Rescue 116 mapping system to be questioned in the Dail

The Fine Gael TD Michael D’Arcy has demanded that the company who provided the mapping system to be brought in front of the Dail and questioned over why Blackrock island wasn’t on their database.

According to the Mirror, D’Arcy called for the compan to be questioned after global avionics provider Honeywell was not identified in a preliminary report into the tragic event.

D’arcy said: “The company should be brought in to the Oireachtas Transport Committee and asked to give an explanation of what happened and why this database was not updated.”

Captain Dara Fitzpatrick and Capt Mark Duffy are still the only two crew members to be found from the disaster.
