There was a further incident of violence between the neighboring countries today, according to international sources.

North Korean border gunners fired anti-aircraft rounds on unmanned balloons launched from South Korea. Some rounds reportedly landed on South Korean soil, so troops responded by firing machine gun bursts across the border.

Nobody was injured in the incident. The balloons contained South Korean propaganda leaflets against the regime in the North.

There have been a series of such confrontations over the last few weeks.

This latest incident follows the mystery of Kim Jong Un’s whereabouts. The 31-year-old North Korean leader has not been seen in public since Sept. 03. His conspicuous absence from an anniversary celebration of the North Korean Workers’ Party today has raised concerns about the man’s health.
