Firefighters in the UK tackle blaze at a university

Firefighters in the UK were called to tackle what was called a “significant” blaze at a university in Nottingham. Around 60 firefighters were called to the scene at University of Nottingham shortly after 8.30pm last night.

It is believed a fire started on the Nottingham University Jubilee Campus. It is unconfirmed on how the blaze started.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue told reporters: “We were called at 8.36pm to a building under construction on Triumph Road in Radford. The building is part of the University of Nottingham campus.”

There has been no confirmed reports of injuries and the cause of the blaze is unknown as yet, a fire spokesman said.
