Flood Crisis: Homeowners say “Absolutely no help from the government to people outside Dublin, it’s just disgusting”

Homeowners from around the country are finally saying what needs to be said. Thousands of people are left stranded from their own property after up to 6 weeks of heavy rain has left floods that little to no help has be given.

Lisa Donovan from Athlone told The Liberal:
“The government have failed the country people, it’s absolutely disgusting. This would not happen in Dublin, in Meath, in Louth, in Wicklow, in Kildare or anywhere else in the pale. Absolutely disgraceful!”.

With incessant rainfall over Christmas, many businesses have been forced to shut their doors until they assess the damage and try and rebuild from the ground up, literally.

Enda Kenny has received a flurry of condemnation from all quarters when he took over a week to even have his face shown in public after the horrendous weather spell.

Simon Harris and Simon Coveney were called out by homeowners as “doing photo op’s and nothing else”.

People are now at their wit’s end with no end in sight for the inclement weather, something really needs to be done or 2009’s floods will be in the halpenny place compared to 2016.
