Former Anglo Irish Bank chairman Sean Fitzpatrick acquitted of all charges

Sean Fitzpatrick, the man at the helm of Anglo Irish Bank at the time of its collapse, walked out of court a free man today.

It is understood that a judge will direct all charges against Mr. Fitzpatrick to be dropped, thus exonerating him of any wrongdoing.

Sean Fitzpatrick presided over the collapse of Anglo Irish Bank, an event that triggered financial meltdown in the country. He stood accused of providing misleading information to the bank’s auditors, in an attempt to cover the truly dire situation of the entity.

His trial has collapsed due to ‘flaws in the investigation process and in the prosecution case.’
