PSNI detectives investigating dissident activity stopped a vehicle and recovered an assault rifle and some ammunition.
The incident took place in Grosvenor Road, West Belfast, last night.
Four people have been arrested. A 29-year-old man was detained at the scene and three others were arrested during a follow-up operation in the Springfield Road area.
