Freezing temperatures and snow on the way again, as a new cold front approaches

The national forecaster has issued a statement saying that Ireland will experience another spell of wind, rain, and snow as a cold front approaches the country.

It may be a sunny morning in many areas, but it’s not going to last. Temperatures will remain in single digits for most of the day, and will plunge again by nightfall, leading to widespread frost formation and possible snowfall.

There will be scattered showers throughout the day, mostly across western areas, turning wintry towards evening.

The outlook is for changeable weather over the next three days, with the thermometer barely reaching 9C at best, and some spells of rain at times.
