French authorities have launched a terrorism probe, after a man was arrested at the grounds of the Eiffel Tower on Saturday night.
The man, who reportedly wielded a knife and shouted ‘Allahu Akbar” as he approached the entrance to the tower, was quickly overpowered and apprehended.
The perpetrator has been identified as a Mauritania-born French citizen.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
