The national forecaster Met Eireann have issued a yellow status wind warning for the whole country as Storm Helene fast approaches.
In announcement, the National forecaster said winds are expected to reach 110kmph on Wednesday as the storm sweeps across the country.
Met Eireann say the weather warning will remain in place from 5am on Wednesday morning until 5pm Wednesday evening.
The wind warning comes as the national forecaster also issued a yellow status rainfall warning for the North West of the country today.
It is expected that 40mm of rainfall is expected over the next 24 hours which will effect counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
