A man has died after a car collision near Fairview Park in Dublin and the Garda Ombudsman has opened an official investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, the Irish Examiner reported.
The investigation by GSOC is stand procedure as a Garda vehicle was involved in pursuit of the car in which the man died.
The man who died has since been identified as Patrick Joyce (24) who is a grandson of prominent Travellers rights campaigner Nan Joyce who died in Dublin earlier this month. A 13-year-old boy is also injured, and a woman is a critical condition following the collision, The Sun reported.
The young man, who sadly died in the car crash, is believed to have travelled to Dublin from Belfast to attend his grandmother’s funeral.
