Gardaí in Kilkenny City have begun an investigation after a a 98 year old pensioner was robbed at her home on Friday night.
It is understood the disgraceful robbery occurred at approximately 9:30pm on Friday evening when the man broke into the pensioner’s home in the Riverside area and demanded that the defenseless woman hand over a quantity of cash.
Although thankfully the pensioner didn’t suffer any serious injuries, it is believed that she was treated following the incident.
Gardai say they are currently investigating the incident and they are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area between 9:30pm and 10pm to come forward and contact them at Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
