Gardai in Drogheda, Co Louth have launched an investigation after a man recieved multiple stab wounds during an attack over the weekend.
The investigation comes after the man aged in his 20s, sustained stab wounds to his back and his head.
It is understood the man was seriously injured in the incident which occurred at approximatley 6:30pm on Saturday evening in the Bryanstown Manor area of the town.
Gardai say the man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda for treatment. They also say an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
