Gardaí in Drogheda Co Louth have launched an investigation after a young man sustained serious injuries during an assault in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
It is understood the investigation comes after the 18 year old man was found badly beaten in the Dominic’s Park area of the town at approximatley 12.30am on Monday morning.
Gardai say the young man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment and he currently remains in serious condition.
