Gardai in Co Monaghan have launched an investigation after an ATM was stolen over the weekend.
The investigation comes after a gang of thieves made off with a cash machine in the early hours of Sunday morning.
It is understood the gang used stolen heavy machinery equipment to remove the ATM from the wall of the Bank of Ireland branch on Main Street in Ballybay.
Gardaí say the ATM was taken away by a dark coloured Toyota Land Cruiser in the direction of Carrickmacross.
They also say it was followed by a silver coloured BMW car, and it is believed that there were at least three people involved in the robbery.
