Garda investigation underway after body is discovered in Co Meath

The body of a man who was reported missing from Drogheda, Co Louth has been found in Co Meath.

The missing man is believed  have sustained number of gunshot wounds. The man’s body was reportedly discovered in a field in the area of Ballymacan which is located on the Louth-Meath border near Collon just before 6pm this evening.

It is believed that the man, who was originally from Coolock in Dublin, had gone with another man who is a possible known associate to meet a number of other people.

A Gardaí spokesman has said that they are investigating the circumstances leading up to the man’s death. The area where the body was discovered has been sealed off for a forensic investigation.
