A Garda investigation is underway after they arrested four suspected illegal immigrants in Co Laois on Monday night.
It is understood the four men all aged in their 20s were arrested after they got out of a lorry in Grantstown at approximately 10:30pm.
The four men were apparently made into the country via Ringaskiddy Co Cork after travelling from Spain.
Gardaí investigating the incident say the men who have requested asylum, are being detained at Bridewell Garda Station.
