Gardaí in Co Roscommon have launched an investigation after a robbery took place at a Vodafone shop in Roscommon Town on Wednesday morning.
It is understood the thieves who used a sledgehammer to force open the shutters of the shop located in Main Street in the town, made off a quantity of phones worth thousands of euro.
Gardai say the robbery occurred at approximately 4am on Wednesday morning and they are currently searching for a Silver 5 series BMW with number plates stolen from two cars in Lanesborough on Tuesday night.
They also are appealing for anyone who may have been in either Lanesborough or Roscommon Town between the hours of 4am and 5am to come forward and contact them on 090 6638300.
