Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation after a woman was the victim of an alleged sexual assault over the weekend.

It is believed the woman was attacked by a man whilst she was walking in the Harold’s Cross area of the city.

Gardaí investigating the incident say they are currently searching for a man who was described as being 6ft in height, with broad shoulders and had black hair.

It is believed the man who also spoke Spanish, attacked the woman on the  Mount Argus Road at approximately 5am.

Gardai say the attacker fled the scene after a couple who had been walking in the area saw the attack unfold.

Gardai are currently appealing to anyone with any information to contact them at Sundrive Garda station on 01 6666600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
