Gardai advise motorists to drive extra carefully overnight and tomorrow morning as temperatures drop to -5c leaving a hard frost




Gardai have advised motorists to be extra vigilant tonight and tomorrow morning as plunging temperatures to -5c will leave a hard frost and icy conditions, especially in rush hour traffic tomorrow morning.

The warning comes after Met Éireann issued a another weather warning stating that roads will be treacherous until at least midday tomorrow, Tuesday.

Met Eireann say many roads having not been gritted, especially B roads and that people should drive with extreme caution until the cold snap subsides.

Temperatures are due to rise from Wednesday evening onwards with Thursday and Friday seeing highs of 10c.
