Gardaí and customs officials have confirmed they have seized five puppies during a search of a van at Dublin Port this morning.
It us understood the pups were found after Gardaí stopped a van boarding a ferry bound for England at approximately 9.20am this morning.
Gardaí say they found five Pomeranian puppies in a cage. It is believed the pups were seized and have since been handed over to the DSPCA.
Gardaí also say the van driver was questioned for having no insurance.
