Gardaí in Cork city are appealing for information after a number of shots were fired at a man in the North of the city on Thursday evening.
The appeal comes after a number of gunshots were shot a 40-year-old man who was out walking at Chapelgate, Ballyvolane.
It is understood the man sustained no injuries in the incident after he made it to safety.
Gardaí say they are appealing for witnesses who may have been in Chapelgate or Leeds Lane area at approximatley 10:30pm on Thursday night to come forward and contact them at Mayfield Garda Station on 021-4558510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
