Gardaí in Co Galway are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run recently.
Gardaí say the elderly gentleman man aged in his 80s, was left in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle at approximately 5pm on Wednesday, December 28.
It is believed the incident occurred one kilometre outside Clonberne on the Dunmore to Clonberne road close to the Old Post Office.
The elderly man was taken to University College Hospital Galway where his condition is described as critical but stable.
Gardaí say they are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have in the area between 4.30pm and 5pm on the 28th, and to contact them in Tuam Garda station on 093 70840, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
