Gardaí have confirmed that a second man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Garda Adrian Donohoe five years ago.
The man aged in his 50s was arrested in Dundalk on Monday evening and he his currently being held at Balbriggan Garda station.
It is understood the man’s arrest comes after Gardai in Dublin arrested a man aged in his 20s on Sunday.
Both arrests come as Gardai stepped up their efforts in recent days.
Detective Donohoe was tragically shot dead five years ago outside Lordship Credit Union in Co Louth, by armed raiders whilst he and another Garda were carrying out a cash and transit run.
