Gardaí in Co Offaly have launched an investigation after a man was seriously injured in an attack at the weekend.
It is understood the man was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital, with serious head injuries after he was found in Munny, Kilcormac.
Gardaí say the alleged incident occurred at approximately 6pm on Saturday evening.
They appealing to anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the area to contact them at Birr Garda Station on 057 9169710.
