Gardaí in Drogheda Co Louth are appealing for witnesses this evening after a driver fled the scene of a crash involving an ambulance in the town earlier this afternoon.
According to reports the incident which involved a car and an ambulance happened at the junction of the Bridge of Peace and the Rathmullen road at approximately 3.20pm this afternoon.
Gardaí say two paramedics and one patient were on board at the time, although thankfully they were not seriously injured in the collision and are currently receiving treatment in Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda.
It is believed the driver left the scene on foot and a search is now underway
