Gardai in Laytown Co Meath appealing for information on crash that left a 13 year old boy seriously injured

Gardaí in Laytown Co Meath are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed a crash that left a teenage boy seriously injured, to come forward and contact them.

Gardai say that the 13-year-old boy was struck by a car at the entrance to the Wellesly Manor Estate on the Eastham Road in Bettystown on Wednesday afternoon. It is understood that the driver was uninjured in the incident, however the young boy was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment but he was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Gardaí are asking anyone who may have been in the area at around 3.45pm that afternoon to contact Laytown Garda Station on 041-9813320, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
