Gardai issue warning to women in particular after two thugs impersonate gardai and attempt to attack a female driver




Gardai have warned people that if they suspect they’re being pulled in or stopped by people impresonating gardai that they’re to ring 999 or 112 immediately when safe to do so.

On Friday night, a woman driving along the Baltrasna Fleenstown Lane in Co. Meath was stopped by what she thought to be a Garda car.

Horrifically the woman was confronted by two thugs who got out of the vehicle and attempted to attack and harass the woman and her daughter.

Thankfully, the woman managed to drive away unharmed.

Gardai have warned motorists of this type of crime, and have advised that if the driver has any doubt about the identity of the people approaching them, they should contact the nearest Garda station at once.
