Gardaí in Co Galway have confirmed that a man aged in his 60s has sadly passed away following a boating accident off the Connemara Coast.
In a brief statement Gardaí said the man who was rescued by the RNLI and the Irish Coast Guard, sadly passed away in hospital on Wednesday evening.
It is understood the man’s vessel overturned at approximately 4:30pm on Wednesday afternoon.
A post-mortem examination will take place later today.
