Gardaí and the DSPCA have confirmed that a number of puppies and adult dogs were seized at Dublin Port over the weekend.
It is understood the dogs were seized after a routine search was carried by Gardaí and Port Security.
Gardaí say the dogs did not have the correct paperwork nor a pet passport even though were scheduled to be exported to the UK.
The DSPCA say the vast majority of the puppies, were Labrador and Collie crosses, and are just 10 weeks old.
