Around 65 Gardaí have taken part in the 5k Remembrance Run in memory of their fallen colleagues Adrian Donohoe and Tony Golden today.
The Gardaí joined an estimated 3,500 people in the Phoenix Park this morning. The event is in its 4th year, and brings people together to remember their loved ones who have passed away.
The event took place today just four weeks after the murder of Garda Tony Golden in the town of Omeath, Co.Louth. Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe, who was killed while on duty almost three years ago was also honoured today.
Members of Garda Tony Golden’s class at Templemore College, his Garda colleagues in Louth and retired gardaí all donned blue singlets in solidarity with his family following the fatal shooting.
