Thousands of shoppers across Ireland have been urged to remain vigilant whilst shopping this Christmas as the number of thefts are on the rise.
According to latest figures over €400,000 worth of valuable items were stolen from shoppers in Ireland last year.
Gardaí also say the incidents are most common on weekdays between the hours of 12pm and 6pm.
