Gerry Adams has no intention of taking Martin McGuiness’s place in Stormont – say Sinn Fein

The Sinn Fein party have denied all speculation surrounding their party leader Gerry Adams’s rumoured move to take over the leadership of the party in Stormont.

The news which has been much talked about in the press recently was quashed last night after a party spokesperson revealed that Mr Adams has no intention to take the position North of the border.

The prospect of Mr Adams vacating his current seat in the Dáil has come after current Deputy First Minister in Northern Ireland Martin McGuiness, has yet to confirm whether or not he will contest the next election later this year due to ongoing health issues.

However the party have strongly denied such a move will take place reiterating that Mr Adams is fully focused on matters in the Dáil.
