Weekend weather outlook looking promising as forecasters’ say the country will experience milder and drier conditions

Storms Ophelia and Brian brought misery and devastation to Ireland, causing damage and death.

The worst seems to have now passed, as settled conditions will be predominant over the next two days at least.

Forecasters’ say today (Thursday), will remain dry, but cloud cover will keep the sun hidden from view most of the day.

Meanwhile Friday will be mostly sunny with temperatures expected to be in the low teens.
