Iceland have reduced the warning level of volcanic ash to orange. This is good news for European aviation travelers. A recent small volcanic eruption in the Bardarbunga valcano triggered a red alert and issued a major threat that Iceland was about to cause airport chaos once again.
In 2010, Volcanic ash from the Eyjafjallajokull eruption shut down over 90% of Europe’s flights were grounded on and off for a number of weeks. The Icelandic Meterological Office have said there isn’t the same threat this time, but that there still remains a 3 mill no-fly zone above the Bardarbunga volcano in central Iceland until further notice.
