Many people complain that any sort of improvement in the economy is only ever in and around Dublin or the home counties of Kildare, Meath, Louth and Wicklow, but today’s Virgin Media announcement is welcomed by many living outside these counties.
160 Virgin Media jobs are promised in Limerick and Cork following separate announcements today.
Communications company Virgin Media has announced that it is to create 120 jobs in Limerick, with investment funds manager Willis Towers Watson promising a further 40 jobs for Cork.
The positions at Virgin Media’s national customer service centre in Roxboro will are to be filled immediately, which will see the workforce rise to 400 in Limerick.
The company is looking for customer servicer staff following an increase in demand for its broadband, phone, mobile and TV services.
Meanwhile in Cork, 40 positions in asset, risk and data management, compliance and accounting will be filled in Willis Towers Watson.
