Good news story – Chernobyl survivors shared their tremendous story on tonight’s Late Late Show

Two Chernobyl survivors shared their tremendous story on tonight’s Late Late Show.

Raisa and Anna told of effects they were left with after the nuclear power plant disaster. They told how they were initially in institutions in Belarus, but with the help of Irish aid workers, they managed to start to visit Ireland.

Some of those aid workers were Ali Hewson and Adi Roche. The two ladies selflessly went to Chernobyl and did what they could to set up an avenue for children affected by the disaster to come to Ireland for the summer and Christmas.

Raisa and Anna were eventually adopted and brought up here in Ireland. They both are now doing incredibly well in their respective career choices and judging by the interview, both are tremendous young ladies.
