The part weekend was a weekend to forget weather wise as low temperatures combined with overcast and showery conditions made it feel less like summer and more like autumn.

However if you have been longing for summer sun you may be happy to hear that the good weather spell is set to return this week with temperatures expected to reach a pleasant 22C.

The return of the good weather will begin from today onwards as prolonged spells of sunshine and temperatures in the high teens and low twenties are expected.

Although conditions will improve, today Tuesday will see some scattered showers particularly in the West and North with temperatures being in the high teens.

The rest of the week will be a considerably good week as the rain is expected to make way on Wednesday with prolonged spells of sunshine on Wednesday and Thursday.

Temperatures will still remain relatively high with southern regions experiencing the temperatures that could very well reach 22C.

It will be slightly cooler in the North with light winds expected to see averages of between 16-19C.
