Google+ to shut down following a potential data breach

Tech giant Google have confirmed that it is to shut down its Google+ social network following a potential data breach.

In an announcement made on Monday, the company confirmed that in the region of 500,000 accounts were affected by the breach.

It is reported that the the company decided to close down its network after the bug may have exposed data to external developers.

Google say the bug provided potential developers potential access to private Google+ profile data between 2015 and March 2018.
