The government have a sin to pay – the sentiment felt around the country as mother-of-five Emma Mhic Mhathúna was laid to rest in Kerry yesterday.
A woman of faith, Emma’s family said that she had strong faith in God to the end and that she’ll look after her children from Heaven now.
Tributes have flooded in from across the country from Emma Mhic Mhathúna, one of the women caught up in the Cervical Check scandal, who sadly passed away aged just 37 on Sunday morning.
Quest Diagnostics, the US lab involved in the case, had admitted liability after ‘misreading’ a number of smear slides back in 2010 and 2013.
Ms. Mhic Mhathúna settled her case against the HSE and Quest Diagnostics for €7.5m. She leaves five children behind.
