The Government have confirmed they will be allocating €60,000 in funding for the St Vincent De Paul this January.
It is understood the Government agreed to provide the funding as part of its contribution to help struggling families following the post Christmas spending.
In a statement a Government spokesperson said the allocation of the funding will go towards helping families who have little to no money following the Christmas period.
They added we hope the funding will prevent those struggling financially from turning to unofficial money lenders.
