The was some great news this afternoon for Co Cork woman Joanne O’Riordan who has been confirmed the winner of JCI Outstanding Young Person of the World Award for 2015.

Joanne who has an extremely rare medical disability known as Total Amelia was announced the winner of the prestigious Junior Chamber International Outstanding Young Person of the World Award for 2015 late last night by JCI President Ismail Haznedar. Joanne has spoken of her delight of winning the prestigious award saying; “I’m simply blown away by the fact that I have been awarded such an accolade. To say I’m over the moon would be an understatement. “I was joking with my bother Steven last night that if I’m ever being interviewed on The Late Late Show again I’ll have to ask Ryan Tubridy to address me as Outstanding Young Person of the World.”

It is believed Joanne won almost half of the 26,000 online votes, along with the judges vote to win the award by a landslide. Joanne will receive her award in November at a ceremony held in Japan.
