Grounded: Both Aer Lingus and Ryanair warn customers of flight disruptions this weekend due to ongoing French air traffic control strike

Two of the country’s biggest airlines have warned passengers that a number of flights may be cancelled over the course of the weekend.

In announcements made on Friday both Aer Lingus and Ryanair have warned that flights will be cancelled due to an air traffic control strike in France.

In a statement released on their website Ryanair have said a number of flights have been cancelled due to the strike which is scheduled to take place today and tomorrow.

Meanwhile Aer Lingus have warned customers to check their scheduled flight before setting off for the airport.

Both companies say those affected will be accommodated via other flights which are free of charge, or refund.
