The NHS has confirmed that it will go ahead with its plans to roll out group appointments at GP surgeries, after a number of trials across the UK.
The trials were deemed successful, so GPs across Britain will see groups of up to 15 people at a time. The sessions are planned to last up to 2 hours.
Patients welcomed the news, as many felt that fellow patients with similar conditions were of benefit to them in terms of support and understanding.
Participation in a group will remain optional. Those patients who’d rather be seen on a one-to-one basis will still be allowed to do so.
