The Minister for Health Simon Harris has warmed top management officials’ at the HSE that they will be removed from their positions if hospital waiting lists are not cut and continue to grow.
Minister Harris’s stark warning comes after a recent RTE documentary series found that thousands of Irish adults and children are still waiting for routine procedures.
Speaking at the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party meeting last night, Minister Harris said HSE management must be held accountable for the delay.
Mr Harris also said that any senior manager in the health service will be removed from their position if the crisis continues.
