There’s been a public outcry Stateside after an 11-yr-old took his own life over a vicious prank that went badly wrong.
In a truly horrifying and heartbreaking story an 11 year old boy has taken his own life after believing his young girlfriend was dead.
The young New York boy at the centre of the heartbreaking story, Tysen Benz tragically committed suicide after finding out through posts on Facebook that his 13-year-old girlfriend died.
However the story for the young boy’s death was made all the more horrifying after it was later revealed that the young girl’s death was nothing more than an elaborate prank orchestrated by herself and their classmates.
The story of the sick and twisted prank came to light after police investigated the girl’s alleged death only to find that she was alive and well.
Speaking to the New York Post Tysen’s distraught mum, Katrina Goss, told her story of how she lost her son due to the antics of cruel teenagers.
An emotional Ms Goss explained: “The girl did a prank that made it look like she killed herself and used other friends and their [social media] accounts to make it look like she killed herself.”
“So, he believed her and said ‘I’m going to kill myself'”.
The cruel incident which occurred on March 14 also led to Ms Goss to breakdown and say she is now left without son because he couldn’t deal with the pain of losing someone he deeply cared about.
The courageous mum went onto say that she had only discovered that Tysen had bought a phone from one of his friends and his relationship with the older girl after the horrific incident occurred.
Ms Goss also revealed that she didn’t want to meet the girl adding that she didn’t know why the girl would make up such a ‘controlling, harassing and manipulative’ prank.
She added: “I’m quite angry. I feel like, yeah, they’re young and all that, but I feel like when you’re 13, you’re completely knowledgeable of your choices and you know right from wrong. You can make your own choices. I do feel like she took advantage of a younger boy to control and manipulate him.”
“I don’t feel like it should be taken lightly. She should be held legally responsible for this horrific prank.”
Police say they have launched an investigation after Tysen died as a result of his injuries in hospital on April 4th, they also say the girl could be tried as an adult given the serious nature of the case.
