There was some sad and tragic news announced over the weekend as Gardai in Co Limerick have confirmed that an 18-year-old woman who was seriously injured in a crash on Friday evening, has sadly passed away in hospital.
The young woman who was travelling with a 19 year old man, sadly passed away as a result of the injuries she sustained in the two-vehicle crash which occurred on the N21 at Wards Cross on the Limerick side of Abbeyfeale, Co. Limerick.
The heartbreaking news comes after the 19-year-old man who was driving the vehicle was also killed in the collision with a truck.
It is understood the crash occurred at approximately 7:40 pm on Friday evening when the Jeep the two young teens were travelling in collided with a truck.
Gardai say the driver of the truck was uninjured in the collision, they also say the incident is currently being investigated.
