Heatwave continues, expected to last another seven days at least

The current heatwave continues unabated, and it’s expected to last another seven days at least.

This is the latest forecast by Met Eireann, which says that ‘warm or very warm conditions’ might lead to ‘drought, or near-drought status’ across many parts of the country.

Temperatures are forecast to reach 27-28C today, Monday, and over the next few days.

Met Eireann has issued a new weather warning for extreme heat (for Ireland), affecting Munster, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Galway, Leitrim, and Roscommon. The warning will remain in place until 9pm tonight.
