Christmas Day passed with rather sunny spells, but the weather is taking a turn for the worse today.
Met Eireann has issued a snow-ice warning for the counties of Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Longford, Westmeath, and the entire of Connacht.
According to the weather service, heavy rain will turn to sleet and snow on higher ground, with a possibility of snow flurries on lower plains as temperatures plunge throughout the day.
Driving conditions may be poor in large parts of the country today, so be careful if you are out and about.
