Barry Moore from Rush, County Dublin, was working in a gym in Indianapolis last week when a man went into cardiac arrest during a game of basketball.

24-yr-old Barry wasted no time and jumped straight into action by grabbing the AED defibrillator and then performing CPR which miraculously brought the man back to life.

The two have been reunited – this time under better circumstances. Barry’s story was published on The Liberal and other news sites last week when he published a status to gain awareness in an effort for people to learn CPR.

Today however, he posted a much better status alongside a picture of himself and the man whose life he saved:

Barry said:
“Thank you to everyone for all of your messages and kind words over the past week! It was a response I didn’t expect at all and I appreciate them all. I’m thankful to say that this gentleman is doing very well after suffering a heart attack just a week ago… Doctors hope he should be good to get back playing basketball in just 4/5 weeks! It’s indescribable how it feels to see him in at the club again watching his friends play and having a laugh with them!
Once again though, the emphasis needs to be placed on the importance of knowing CPR!!”

Well done Barry, the Liberal team think you’re a hero!
